Beet The Heat With These Healthy Treats

Because who doesn’t love some guilt-free treats, we’ve created some delicious and nutritious summer recipes using our Organic Beet Juice Powder.

Beets are one of those good for us foods that can be tricky to incorporate into our daily diets. They have a strong flavor and can be a bit tedious to prepare. We do love whole, fresh beets though, so good roasted in salads or with fresh goat cheese, basil, and extra virgin olive oil. Beets can also be juiced and added to your daily health concoction. But sometimes the convenience of a high quality beet juice powder can’t be beat.

The red-violet pigments in beets are not only beautiful, they’re actually a highly valuable form of antioxidant called betacyanins. Betacyanins, including betaine, can promote optimal health by supporting healthy liver detoxification and managing a healthy inflammation response. Beets also contain potassium, vitamin C, iron, and other vitamins and minerals.

Beet juice has become popular of late for its ability to improve performance in elite athletes. This is due to its naturally occurring nitrates. Nitrates affect your cardiovascular system in a positive way by promoting vasodilation in your blood vessels allowing for better oxygen flow. Even if you’re not a seasoned athlete, beet juice may be something to consider before your next workout to gain a little edge.

Sorbet, Nice Cream, or Popsicles. Take your pick to beet the heat nutritiously.

Beet Nice Cream

This Beet Nice Cream is a fun option and creates a surprisingly decadent tasting dessert (or breakfast, it’s that healthy!). Bananas provide the “cream”, mangos the sweet. The beet juice powder infuses a beautiful color and kicks the nutritional level of this recipe up a notch. Get creative with your toppings—coconut flakes, sliced apples, chia seeds, sliced almonds, so many possibilities!

1 tbsp Organic Beet Juice Powder
3 frozen bananas
1 cup frozen mango
½ cup unsweetened nut milk

Blend until creamy. Top with your favorites (coconut flakes, sliced strawberries, chia seeds, sliced almonds are some ideas). Enjoy immediately or freeze for 15 minutes for a frostier consistency.

Beet Strawberry Ginger Sorbet

This is a light, vibrant summer dessert that’s so easy it doesn’t even require an ice cream maker. It’s gluten free, vegan, and uses honey, strawberries and beet juice powder for natural sweetness. Wanting something less sweet? Cut back on the honey or ditch it all together. Wow your dinner guests with this vibrantly colored, good for you treat.

1/2-inch piece of ginger, peeled and diced
1 raw honey or to taste
1/2 cup water
