However, where the original formula was predominantly vitamin C from camu camu berry, the new formula showcases these superfruits in more balanced ratios. By optimizing the synergy of these key ingredients, you get a wider range of supporting polyphenols, antioxidants, and other plant compounds that enhance the overall bioavailability of the vitamin C.

We made the thoughtful decision to remove black pepper and tart cherry from the formula. For black pepper, we removed it due to difficulties securing a reliable supply chain and its minor role in the formula. Vitamin C is naturally well absorbed on its own, and some customers prefer to avoid black pepper extract due to its piperine content, which can sometimes lead to digestive irritation or affect the absorption of medications. For tart cherry, while it was always present in very small amounts, sourcing challenges combined with its moisture-retaining nature created significant manufacturing issues. Ultimately, the very minor benefit it provided did not outweigh the impact it had on our ability to consistently produce the best quality vitamin C product possible.
